Understanding and interrupting limiting loops

The reality of modern suffering is often much quieter than a dramatic crisis. For most of us, it’s the exhausting, day-to-day stuckness of being trapped in a repetitive loop, and very often, that loop lives right in the palm of your hand.It looks like losing hours to endless, mindless scrolling. It’s sitting on the sofa or lying in bed, swiping through screens to numb the stress of the day while watching your evening vanish. It’s using a device to quietly check out from the world because you feel too drained to check in.Over time, that digital noise creates a constant brain fog. It saps your energy, undermines your confidence, and leaves you holding back from the people around you. You might find yourself phasing out of conversations and feeling deeply disconnected from your loved ones and from yourself. You don't need to wait for a total collapse or a grand life crisis to justify wanting things to be different. If you find yourself constantly losing time to the screen, struggling with your identity, or feeling like you've lost your direction in life, you do not have to go it alone.

An active, conversation approach

Unfortunately, many of us have experienced cold and clinical mental health support, where the therapy feels like it happens at us rather than with us. My practice is built differently. My style is active, conversational, and alternative.I truly believe that deep, lasting change is possible because I know what it means to move from feeling stuck and directionless to finding a genuine passion for life. That journey began by learning to understand my own story with someone there to witness it, and I specialize in supporting you to do exactly the same.I want to hear the story of your life, told entirely in your own words. My hope is for our therapy space to be a space for the whole of you, a place to celebrate the wins, your interests, and who you love, as much as a room for us to reflect on what hasn't been working.

Working together

My approach is curious, direct, and non-judgmental. I am not here to hand you a list of answers. Instead, we will work as partners to look honestly at the unconscious script you are following, figure out what got you here, and give you the clarity to make the choices you want in your life.We will sit with challenging emotions and uncomfortable memories together, at a pace that feels right for you. As we move forward, we will always talk openly about the direction of our work, ensuring you have a clear voice in how your therapy progresses. We will also look at our relationship in the room to further understand how you relate to others. I will invite you to let me know when I have misunderstood or taken the wrong path. I may also offer my experience of you as a mirror, supporting increased self-awareness and creating space to explore how you present to the world around you.

Autonomy

Through the lens of Transactional Analysis, the ultimate goal of our work together is Autonomy. Moving from a life run on autopilot to one lived with true intention.
It means breaking free from old, unconscious scripts and reclaiming your freedom through three distinct capacities:

Awareness

Moving past the "fog" to recognize the patterns and internal scripts that keep you stuck.

Spontaneity

Breaking free from autopilot. Learning that you have choices in how you respond to life today.

Intimacy

Developing the ability to be open and authentic with yourself and others.

More about Martin

My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own experience of feeling completely lost at sea. Through my early life and into my twenties, I felt directionless and disempowered. It was through my own therapy, alongside a decade of personal learning, that I discovered a genuine passion for life. I now consider it a privilege to support others in creating that same lasting change for themselves.I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I completed my advanced clinical training at The Link Centre, where I developed my deep focus on Transactional Analysis and relational therapy.Alongside my private practice, I have extensive experience working in the mental health charity sector as a coordinator for West Sussex Mind. In that role, I delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) informed interventions, ran group workshops, and supported hundreds of people within our local community. This time gave me invaluable insight into how local medical systems handle mental health, and it taught me how to provide a more rounded, down-to-earth therapeutic environment.I bring the whole of this background into our sessions. I don't operate from a cold, clinical script; I bring real-world experience, absolute respect for your story, and a commitment to working alongside you as an equal partner.
